THE FAREST I HAVE EVER BEEN

coming from germany in europe some of the farest places to travel to is australia. the land down under. it takes about 24 hours to get to the complete opposite side of the globe. and while i have never been so far from home i have never felt so at home in an different place.

after spending several hours, that feel like an decade, flying through the endless clouds i started putting everything into perpective. not only did the houses and mountains while taking off seem smaller and smaller but my problems and worries seemed to shrink with each mile up into the endless sky. while my setteling time in the beginning surely can be exhausting, unsure and confusing it is a damn good feeling to now that i've arrived somewhere where i now i belong in this very moment.

MORE...EARLY MORNINGS (NEW SERIES OF THINGS I NEED TO DO MORE) #1

waking up at the crack of dawn..let's put it that way, is not my biggest talent. i admit it. i am a sleeper. i loooove sleeping. and i like doing it often and long. i love napping and i am good at it, which means i can fall asleep in nearly any given situation and postion. a thing i am neither good in is timing. therefore it happens to me more than often that i find myself going to sleep between one and three o'clock at night. which you can imagine is not ideal..and even though i am a thight sleeper, meaning it's impossible to wake me up and i don't hear you partying and blasting music beside me, i do have troubels falling asleep. especially after midnight.

so it's not a suprise that early mornings feel awful for me. and even with an earlynight sleep i don't choose them over a lie-in. i'd rather elongate my day at the end of it then at the beginning. but i still need to get stuff done in the mornings..so the first resolution in this new series is to have an early morning! every morning!

and here are a few reasons why and motivatonal facts to kick my bum and maybe even yours :

  •  you get more of the lovely and healthy(!) sunlight
  •  you won't have to rush as fast and can enjoy a relaxed breakfast
  • the silence around you can be truly magical
  • seeing the sunrise might even be prettier and more positive than the sunset
  • everything is not as filled (the gym,the streets, the doctor) so make your appointments now
  • you gain more time to pack your day with adventures (or appointments..)
  • the sleep at the end of the day will feel even better and you be able to fall asleep sooner

hope you'll rise early , either way i hope you shine

BEST HOME REMEDIES FOR A COLD OR SNIFFINESS

it's this awkward time of the year again where you can't decorate your house with a theme ( which i am actually not a big fan of anyways..random fact). it's after christmas and the holiday festivities but it's definately not really eastern or spring yet..it's just plain old boring winter. i do love me some snow..but the sun setting at around four o' clock and this constand cold and dark wheather is not helping me to do productive things.

i might be the only one but i think january is just such a weird tranistion time ..and most of us have dumped their new years resoltutions by now:/..whoopsiee

so apoplogies to all of the avid january-lovers out there but i am not among you and especially since the mixture of the cold and wet wheather and the dry heated air inside is giving a lot of folks a cold.

so to fight that here are a few of my favorite tested home made remedies and tips if you are feeling poorly and need a bit of an pick-me-up to make time fly by quicker until the sun vistis us again :

- drinking a ton of liquids! this is definately not a suprise..but soooo importand! most o it should be water but try to make yourself a fresh orange juice (like i did in the picture above) or a nice ginger and lemon tea. drink even more then you would normally do!

- knowing when to rest! some of us try to fight against sickness a bit too hard..i know that a lot of us have a very busy schedule and taking a day off is not possible. but not curing a simple little cold can turn it into something a lot worse lika a bronchities. so choose wisely and maybe try as much as possible to make time to cure you. in the end you'll probably save time by fixing your cold right away than by curing a lung infection over weeks. ( i am not trying to scare you but please listen to your body)

- sleep is the best medicine! it really is. try to squeeze an extra hour in if you can

- sport comes second in this case! i know that some of us are able to stick to a constant sport schedule. and although i have expierenced that a walk outside with fresh air is always good you might want to take a break from running because it will exaust your body even more when it should use all the energy you have to fight your sickness.

- aroma oils. choose your favorite one. they all have different amazing properties. rub a few drops onto your pulse points. some will make you sleep better and others can wake you..if you believe in them they are really nice. and they smell good anyways.

- try to eat as healthyand 'light' as you can. although this might seem like the perfect timing to splurge on chocolate ice cream or crisps because you are stucked in bed watching netflix you should put healthy food into your body. foods that are easy to digest for your body so it doesn't take up a lot of energy which as said above your body should use to cure itself.

- blow your nose often but not in an agressive, impulsiv way and apply baby-diaper cream on your nose everytime afterwards so you don't get sore patches.

i hope you stay healthy and these few tips will help you
best of luck , julieanor xx
